well, when i turn on my ps3, you know you have to sometimes select the username unless you assign it to sign in to your username automatically. when i turn it on, sometimes the usernames wont display and i just watch the background like for a few seconds and wonder what's going on with the ps3.

i cant sign in and see the main menu of the ps3 which displays the network, settings, games, etc. i know something's wrong, but what? is it because there's too much dust inside my ps3? is it because of the too many files i might've had? if someone has experienced this problem or think they can help, please give me an answer to fix my playstation 3.

  1. that happens sometimes, just unhook your audio and video while ps3 is off and then plug them in and turn it on

  2. When you'll be able to get into XMB (PS3 main screen) - turn off Information Board (news stripe in the corner), check PS3 again. Call Sony anyway and give them a DETAILED description of the problem.

  3. well, first try what the guy before me said about unplugging all of your cables and plugging them back in. if that doesn't work, turn your power main on (the switch in the back) and hold your finger over the power switch in the front for like 15 secs or so. this resets your playstation, but don't worry, it doesn't erase your files or anything. it just causes the playstation to rejuvenate itself. it worked for me when my ps3 was all messed up like yours. also go to the playstation website, they have a whole mess of info on how to fix your ps3.
