My Ps3 broke and wat do i do?

my old 80 ps3 is broken and i dont want the new 80gb version cuz it doesnt have backwards compatability but i dont want to wait till the new 160 gb coms out wat do i do.

and when does the 160 gb version come out. some people say november some say october

Either Wait Until The 160 Comes Out Or  Buy a 40gb Model That's The One I Have Its Good

160GB won't have PS2 backwards compatibility too. It's the same 40GB version with a larger HDD. It'll be out on Halloween.

The 160 isn't supposed to be backwards compatible either as I understand it. Just a bigger Hard Drive. So yeah I'd look for a way to get yours fixed, either by Sony if it is under warranty or find somewhere that fixes them.

well send it to sony they will fix it for you for free if you got warranty
