My Puppy sleeps on her pee pad?

So I got my puppy today, and I lay out a pee pad for her & then I have her crate and a blanket and stuff she can sleep on.

Instead, she decides to run to the pee pad and sleep there & I heard dogs dont like peeing where they sleep so wouldn't that mean she won't use the pee pad?

what do i do?

  1. Don't let her sleep on it.  If she lays down, pick her up and put her back into the crate.  That or make her stand again and wait some more.  I remember when I was crate training, sometimes it takes fifteen minutes.  Good luck.  I had about a week of sleepless nights.  Woke up every 2 hours because I wasn't sure if his whine was his pee pee whine.  Again, good luck!!!

  2. i would moove her to the bedding and make her stay there and if she pees somewhere else other than her pee pad stick her nose in it and put her on the pee pad i did this and my dog learned it was for peeing also move the pee pad away from her crate

  3. She is probably taking to the pee pad because it smells familiar to her, it has her urine on it. She's in a strange environment and is looking for anything familiar to comfort her. I would place her in the crate, while petting her and talking to her, and put a t-shirt of yours in the crate so she'll get used to your smell.

As for the jerk above me....please don't ever rub your dog's nose in her urine, that won't teach her anything. If she urinates in a place you don't want her to, catch her while she's doing it (not after, she won't understand correction after the fact), place her where you do want her to go and when she goes there, praise her.

  4. Put another pad out

  5. I have a 4 month old puppy and she does this. It's very strange because she will pee/p**p on it but will nap on it when it's clean. This is usually when she's in her playpen while I'm working (I work from home).

I am unsure if I should be moving her, but it doesn't seem to stop her from peeing/pooping there. She just won't sleep on it when it's dirty.
