Is there a way to get him to take a bath in a bigger container outside of the cage? I've tried all sorts of containers he doesn't want anything to do with any of them; he will only bathe in his water dish which is way too small for him.

  1. My Green Wing Macaw bathes only in his water dish. Quite a sight considering how large he is and how small the dish is, but whatever floats his boat. He's been bathing in that dish for nearly 11 years.

I just change the water after he's bathed.

Here's the funny part: he only bathes when he hears the vacuum running. Do I have the dumbest macaw, or what?

  2. As long as he is bathing, what's the problem??  Just change the water.

  3. My parrotlet was the same way.  I tried a regular sized bowl and he wanted no part of it so, I tried a real tiny bowl (like you would use for applesauce or a veggie and he loved it.  It seemed to be the size of the bowl.

    Good Luck
