  1. Only that one guy who sings chocolate rain on YouTube.  Favorite rapper as well as black musician is Anthony Criss lead rapper of Naughty By Nature.

  2. No I don't think they over-sing songs alot of black singers especially females have powerful voices that's all. No matter what I will always be partial to Whitney Houston even with all her drama, I also like Alicia Keys, Floetry, Anita Baker, Jill Scott, and a plethora of others. I'm an R&B head. =)

  3. I think at times they do. Look at American Idol, most of the Blacks have oversung their songs.

  4. Yes it did.

I don't think blacks over-sing songs.  I think they're more likely to put their heart and soul into it and they're not afraid to look silly or overdone, which certainly isn't a bad thing.

Oh and Jennifer Holiday is a great singer.  Not my favorite but I think she's the best.

  5. This one did.lol......I'm black but I'll still answer this question, I love Whitney Houston's voice over any other black vocalist.

  6. No,my favorite Black singers who can actually sing in my opinion are

    Jennifer Hudson...Great strong voice

Keyshia Cole...Some people think she can't sing but I do and when she sings, it comes straight from the heart

Sade...I always loved her music and her voice, beautiful woman.Timeless and Classic, which she'd come back and make some beautiful songs

Alicia Keys...Very talented woman who's songs have meaning

Whitney Houston...Who can compete with this beautiful woman?

Lyfe Jennings...Not sure about his voice but he is Underrated but his music is real

Maxwell..Sweet angelic voice.Where has he been?

Jaheim..Very soulful s**y deep voice and great music

Tamia...Someone else who is underrated, pretty and soft voice.

    Toni Braxton-Love her deep voice.

  7. do I think blacks over-sing songs? Not all. Some do, some do, the same goes for whites.

Toni Braxton, Luther Vandross, Stevie Wonder, Roberta Flack are a few favorites of mine

  8. Oversinging songs? That's never crossed my mind as far as I remember. You can never have too much singing in a song, I mean that's what songs are all about. And I like a lot of black singers like Keyshia Cole and Alicia Keys just to name a few.

Edit:Oh yeah, how could I forget Whitney Houston?

  9. there are alot of ppl asking questions at once so your question wont always be in the front page. i usually like to answer questions in the back because they havent been answered yet. well... it posted now..

  10. Not at all...(wait...does Mariah count? I can't stand her singing) Black singers are the best vocalists out there. I once visited a predominantly Black baptist church, and the choir? OMG!! Their singing was just unbelievable! There was a little girl who did a solo, she had to be about 10 years old and she had one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard, she gave me chills!  My favorite singer is The Queen of Hip Hop/Soul...Mary J. Blige.

  11. Actually it is a band-"Earth, Wind and Fire"
