  1. listen to SICK214, you WILL sometimes forget to flip the switch and come outside to a dead battery


  2. yes you can but i wouldnt recommend you doing it that way.

    its better if you spend the extra time and wire the switch with a fuse to the "IGN" or the "ACC" fuse in the fuse box.

    this is a much better spot because power will automatically be cut off if the car is turned off. so incase someday you forget to turn off the amps, they will shut off automatically if you do it this way instead of having the battery die in the morning and car doesnt start.

    again, add a small 5A fuse to the wire incase something goes bad, the fuse will blow and the car wont catch on fire.

    the way you said you want to do it, running it directly into the battery, is going to work too but you will have to manually always turn the switch off. if you forget, the amps will be on all the time and will kill the battery.

    you might as well do it the right way instead of half-asn the job to save time.
