i have a rough green snake (maybe a year old or so) and some of his scales on his underside are not looking right =/ they look as if there almost.. idk.. shriveled up i guess... and theres a section towards his end that feels rougher then the rest (idk if that has anything to do with him or its something that got on him). he eats regularly (crickets with vitamin power on them) and always has water.

can someone please help???

  1. i think that snake is sheding.leave it be.you know, you should have known that before you got the snake.the snake should be left alone and not be interfered

  2. could be a fungal infection. If you've got a pet store around that specializes in snakes they may be able to help you, but your best bet for diagnosis and treatment would be to take it to a vet who knows a little something about snakes. I don't want to misdiagnose, but it does sound like the same fungus my father's grey ratsnake had... if it is, and you're persistent with the topical ointment they'll prescribe and keep the cage VERY clean (that's the first step, I know a nicely landscaped terrarium is nice, but soil is very good for harboring various parasites and microorganisms) it is treatable.

    good luck.

  3. rough greens, wow, what a snake. it really depends of how far down on his tail it is, cause it could actually be the thing that let you know that he is in fact a he, if he is still eatting healthy and doesnt seem to be taunted by it, id let it be
