  1. The military press is a lifting exercise normally using a barbell. It works the upper back muscles (traps etc...)

Starting with the bar from the floor lift with an overhand grip to waist height. The bar is then lifted to shoulder height and as you do twist the bar so it is resting on the palms of your hands...like the 'clean' movement in the clean and jerk...This is your start and finish position (from shoulders...)

The exercise is to 'jerk' the bar overhead to a straight arm position. Be careful to keep your body aligned and DON'T rock backwards.

Lower the bar to shoulder height and repeat...

  2. Its a weight-training exercise

  3. Do a hand stand up against a wall, lower yourself until your head touches the ground and push back up again !.

  4. Military press. Get a bar with as much weight as is comfortable for you to do repetition with. Lift it straight above your head. From that position, lower it down behind your neck and raise it again. Repeat it until you feel like you've done enough, but be aware there is no point in doing two reps with a massive weight. Cut it down and do at least ten.

Donpresto, mate, I may be wrong but I suspect what you've just described is the bog standard, as seen at the Olympic weightlifting competition, the clean and jerk. Nothing whatsoever to do with the military press.

  5. A military press involves using an EZ barr. This is a short barr that haz a Z through the middle. Lying on a flat bench holding the barr directly above your head. Slowley bring the barr down towards your forehead while still having the Bicep & Tricep area of your arms in the air. This excercise is also called a "Skull Crusher"

  6. The above is correct, but I also believe you can do it on a slanted weight bench (they make them for this lift) where the top of the your body is at a higher elevation than the rest of it. You just do a bench press from that position.

  7. It is a vigorous exercise- most associated with weight training.
