Question:

My SAT Biology Subject Test Result?

by  |  earlier

I just checked the result of my SAT Subject Tests

I got a 730 in Math 2 and a 670 in my Bio M

But wait, they had written Bio "E" 670

I called them and they wanted to charge me 50 dollars for rechecking the whole test by hand in 5 WEEKS. If it was there mistake then they would refund the money. Could any of you just tell me what just happened? Any experiences like this? What about my scores? I am positive that i had taken the Bio M test. Please help :(

  1. I'd recommend that before you do anything, you wait until July 5 when the more comprehensive score report comes out. If it says that you omitted twenty questions, then get it handscored.

  2. As long as they didnt mess up the score, I dont see why it matters, both tests are considered equally difficult.

  3. Assuming you just took the test this June, it appears I have the same problem as you.  I got a 700 in my Bio M but they printed E on the online score check.  I would recommend waiting for the full score report on July 5 so that we can see whether or not the 20 questions on the M section were properly graded.  Then, if there's a problem, I think we'll have to pay up the $50 for the score verification.

As to causes for why they would have printed E, its possible that we gridded in the wrong test on the answer sheet.  If you remember, for each test we had to copy a set of bubbles from the test booklet to the answer sheet.

However, it may simply be a mistake on College Board's end as I find it difficult to believe that I could achieve a 700 on the Bio E while missing all 20 of the E questions.  If it proves to be that College Board has simply mislabeled our test results, it would be advantageous to us because it would result in a higher percentile since scores are about 30 points lower on average for the E test.

To restate my point though, we know nothing until the score report comes out.
