My TV is a 32", 330 series, and when i press the source button and a message comes up with " there is no device connected" the regular ps3 av cable is the red, white, and yellow cables, but the tv only has room for the red and white cable. So i plugged in the red and white cables to the back of my tv, pressed menu on the controller, went down the input, clicked on source list, but only TV is highlighted, while AV, Component 1 and 2, PC, HDMI 1 and 2 isnt.

  1. First, since you have an HDTV, you may want to think about going out and getting an HDMI cable, using composite cables (yellow/red/white) will give you degraded image on HDTVs

Next, If all you have are the red and white connections on your television, then it must be an audio out connection, the red and white connections on a television are the left (white) and right (red) stereo audio connections, the yellow connection is video, so since you only have the red and white connections connected, you don't have your video connected, and that is why your television can't detect your PS3's video
