My Samsung U600 fails to

Question

My Samsung U600 fails to boot up past the "SGH-U600 SAMSUNG" startup screen. The only way to get the phone off this screen is to remove the battery (tried). Only button with a function is the power button and even then only when the phone is off does that work. Tried starting it with the charging cable in, taking the battery and SIM out. Any ideas?
