My Sanyo microwave oven is

Question

My Sanyo microwave oven is six months old. The turntable has stopped rotating smoothly. Its motion has suddenly become jerky and noisy at the same time. I have given it to the vendor who sold it to me, for repair. Is it a major fault? I wonder why a brand new oven developed such a s problem.
