I have a perscription for Metamucil (1tsp with 2 Tblsp water) and I gave it to him today after 3 days no p**p. He is lethargic. He refused it so I put it into 2 quail eggs I had to empty for this. He ate the eggs and got the Metamucil (but only 1/2 his dose). He is 23 inches long, don't know the weight, lives in a 100 gallon tank (glass), has the temp at 90 degrees where he is resting right now, combo of underpad and over head basking light, he already shed, the substrate is "forest floor" woody stuff that I keep moist, and only on 1/2 the cooler side of the tank, the other side is his feeding side where I only have a neatly folded towel so he can't eat the substrate. In the past 5 days he ate 20 goldfish, 2 small mice (never again), 3 hornworms, 1 oz fresh pork meat, and the shells of the eggs I filled with the fiber mixture. I soaked him in warm water for 2 hours keeping it warm, I walked him with his leash in the garden and let him do some exploring, and he has stuck to his hidespot

  1. Don't play doctor with him. His digestive tract is not conditioned to process fiber and how do you decide what the right dose would be anyway? If he doesn't get enough liquid with it, it'll block his intestines and kill him. Why are you worried after just 3 days? Give him more time. Feed him more mice and fewer goldfish. Goldfish contain an enzyme that blocks a certain B vitamin and in excess are harmful. You should buy reptile vitamins and calcium to put on his food. Skip the pork. It's too fatty and is unbalanced, as it's all meat and no organs or bones. I hope the hornworms were bought online and not wild caught. Wild hornworms are toxic.

  2. Hate to have to tell you this but your WHOLE set up and diet are WAY OFF. He should have a basking spot of 130F. Goldfish are horrible feeders full of nasty persists! Mice and Insects are what he needs to be eating. Not raw pork meat or goldfish. And if the eggs are not fertile then they are worthless to him as well. Also he needs to be on dirt/sand mixture NOT "woody stuff" or towels. You should also build him a cage not put him in a glass tank. Dose it have a screened lid as well? If so you NEED a soild top instead. You  can give him a few drops of minearl oil tonight and see if that helps him p**p but you need to get him to the vet and make changes to his home asap!
