My Shaw Digital PVR is filling up too fast!?

It normally will hold a couple of dozen shows before it is full (1/2 - one hour) - as of last night it fills up with only two shows. One individual show is taking up 50% of my memory - what is happening? I can't figure out how to fix it. My cable box isn't HD, so I am not recording anything in HD.

unplug it wait 10 seconds and plug it back in

If you get the 100% Full message, deleting a programme will usually get you back to the correct reading. Record a few 1 minute programmes so that you can delete them as required for this workaround.
