Every time I make a new family and move them in to a house they are frozen. I can click on stuff and tell them what to do but they don't move and it's not just one family or house it's all of them. I can still go into build mode buy mode and create new families. Is there anything I can download or do so I can play again?

  1. Try deleting all of your downloads, mods and such stuff. They can be corrupting your game.

If they're original (not a pirated copy) you can try send an e-mail to the EA Team. The address should be on the box somewhere.

  2. it's game freezing.not frozen.we're not talking about gelato here.

just get rid of all your custom contents.then restart the game.and make sure to upgrade your video card and memory.you can't force your pc to do something beyond its limits.

  3. *sigh* So many answers, so little help.

    First open My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2

Find the Groups.cache and Accessory.cache files and delete them.

    Try playing the game.

If it doesn't work still, open My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/Downloads folder,

MOVE everything in there out into a folder on your desktop.

    Try playing the game.

If the game plays fine, something in your Downloads folder was bad.  You can either delete all of it or put it back a piece at a time and try to play the game after each.  Long process.

If neither of these work, I'd suggest a reinstallation.

    Good luck

  4. normally you can't fix it, but try to save up for a new one.

  5. If all else fails, and assuming you have a legal copy of the game, you can try a noCD crack which will run the game from the files on your computer and won't access the disk at all.

BTW, there's a quicker way to locate a problem in Downloads - doing it one at a time is a waste of time.  Of course, you need to establish the problem is there which is why you take out all CC first and try running the game.  If the problem goes away, you have a bad or corrupted file in Downloads.  Don't forget CC can sometimes also be found in Saved Sims so clear that out as well.

Divide your CC files in half

Put half in Downloads and run the game

If the problem persists, the problem file is in the half in the game, if the problem disappears, it's in the other half

Take the half with the problem and divide again

rinse and repeat till you find the problem file

Believe me this takes a lot less time than testing files one by one.  Finally, this game is very fixable - there is almost never any reason to reinstall.

  6. Is the game paused?

  7. have you tryed shakein the **** out off it

  8. your game is too scratched
