My Singer futura wont sew a contunous straight line.?

Question

I just bought a singer futura and whenever i try to sew a basic straight line the start/stop button blinks and beeps after every few stitches when there is nothing clearly wrong. any ideas?

I don't know this machine, but check the manual for troubleshooting instructions.

General rule for electronic anything: if it's bad, it'll go bad within 6 months, or it'll last for years.  You may have an electronic gremlin.  Or you may just have something like dust over a sensor. http://www.futura-support.com/faq/machin... is the Singer page I found for this machine.

Did you buy it new? If not, it probably hasn't had its yearly tune and clean.

If it's new, it could be a threading problem. Make sure it matches the manual exactly. Every model of machine is a little bit different.
