Question:

My Sister Says I'm very Naive!

I'm 16 years old. Every teen I know seems to have so much freedom. They're out all night doing things, and having all sorts of fun.

But me? My parents keep me in a lot. If I want to hang out with friends, I have to ask a day or two ahead of time. I can't just go where I want. They don't drive me anywhere if they don't feel like it.

They're reasonable when I give them time, but if not, I can't ever hang out with anyone.

Is this normal of parents? Why do the other kid's parents not seem to care? Am I just a loser?

Also, how do I become not so.."innocent and naive" as my sister put it, when I can't even go out and experience anything!

  1. I consider you as being lucky.  Don't be in a rush to lose your innocent side.  It'll do you good in the long run.  Your not weird and yes there are parents that are like that.  At least they care.  You'll have alot of time to go out and do alot and experience alot by the time your in college, just don't ever go over board when you get the chance.  Oh and a way to maybe get out a little more, start making more plans ahead of time.  Even if there's really nothing going on yet.

  2. 1 they are just trying to protect you as they feel probably others have to m uch freedon which cause problems

and becoming mature is about geting to develop knowledge and sence of self...you can do that through 'mediation'

  3. sneak out and party, be rebellious.

    its more fun.

who cares if they yell at you, they'll get over it.

  4. no, its not really normal. actually, i'm 13 and our parents let us do pretty much whatever, just not after dark and we have to make sure we have friends. my entire group goes places like every day. talk to your parents about it. if they keep saying no freedom then show them that you'll have freedom when you want it. sneak out. have fun. live life.
