but his grandma wants to celebrate it on 08.24.08 at chucke e cheese from 2-3:30 on my sons birthday I want my nephew to know I care because I do I love him dearly but we did have plans for my son what do I do does anyone have any suggestions

August 21st is my birthday!! My Anniversary is August 24th!! Weird huh? Anyway...  This is a little tough. Try telling her nicely that its your son's birthday and you can celebrate your nephews later. Possibly in the following weekend? What about Labor day weekend? I hate combined parties. They aren't siblings first of all and they aren't twins. DO NOT DO THAT!!! If they aren't going to do it another weekend, go with what you planned for your son. When his party is over, go to your nephews. Good luck and I hope this helped!!

Could you have a combination party and split the cost 50/50 with your sister/brother?

Point out to the grandmother that the 24th is your son's b-day and that you'd love to have your nephew there. Of all the 365 days in the year, she had to choose your son's b-day? Did she know it was his b-day? Go easy on her....

Talk to your nephew before hand and give him his gift and let him know that you are sorry you won't be able to be at his party.

2.) You can try to see if she will change the date, so you and your son can be there; if not, keep your original plans.
