  1. Trying to potty train a 15 month old is probably not going to go well!  I think you may have to go to pull ups.  Unfortunately pull ups don't hold as much as regular diapers and are more expensive.  Another option would be to make your own cloth diapers.  I know it would be more work, but some people say that cloth makes them potty train sooner.

  2. Go to pull-ups. They have a higher weight range

  3. Lady, I don't know how advanced your son is, so I can't tell you if he is ready to potty train or not.

    When parents say you need to wait until a kids is 2 or 3 to potty train, I find that to be ridiculous. If they can walk, they can start potty training.  And when people say, the kid will let you know - that's a cop out attitude for lazy parenting.  Because if a kid let you know when they are ready to learn to read, learn to do math, etc and we didn't push them to do anything... we'd have a whole society of people doing nothing.  It's called TEACHING!

    Both of my kids were FULLY potty trained by 22 months.  It made life way easier and helped ease our bank accounts by not having to pay for diapers anymore.  You might get a ton of streaks in underwear, calls to the bathroom for over-flowing toilets clogged with t.p., or t**d streaks on the toilet seat from time to time, but it beats the alternative.  Your child is on his way to becoming more self sufficent.

    Parents baby their kids way too much these days... kids still living at home in their mid 20's till mid 30's... give me a break.

    If you are ready to start potty training, then have a go at it - sans any diapers.  No one said it was going to be easy, but CONSISTENCY is the key. Good luck.  Both of you will be happier in the long run once you get over the initial nightmare.

  4. If you think its time to potty train your son...its all you and your  son do you think he want's to be potty train...I potty train my son an a week I try the pull ups and all that they did not work...I just put him in big BOY underwear told him not to pee on who ever was on them like say (spongeBob) was on them  i told him that  spongeBob will get mad so that help out...and from that day on he has uesd the potty...and i put him on the potty ever half HR to an hr and let him sit there for about ten mins or so and let him have a cup and a book but my son did not like to use the lil potty he had to use the big potty...but potty trining your son is all on you cuz you are his mother

  5. If you cannot find a diaper that will fit him then go to cloth.  He is too young to try and train at this point.

  6. start to use pull ups or start potty training

  7. I agree with a different size/brand diaper first of all.  I love pampers cruisers and they usually work.  I tried to go up a size for my son, but then he was leaking all the time. I was thinking - what the heck?! Bigger diaper should hold more not less. But what I found out was in the bigger diaper the legs didn't fit right. they were too loose. So I went back to the other smaller size and just made sure to change him a little more often than normal. I would not suggest potty training now. From my understanding, boys take longer to be ready than girls do and they don't even recomend that till close to 2yrs old.  You could try, but I doubt it would work and you'd get really frustruated.  So I would try a different brand first of all.

  8. Not to be mean, but I think you're crazy :)! 15 months old is wayyyy to young to officially potty train without diapers. What I will recommend, and support, is that you buy a potty now and let him sit on it and just hang out and "try". Or buy a potty video and show him what going in the potty is all about. 15 months is pretty young to potty train anyone, especially a boy. If they are too young to get the hang of pottying in the toilet in two weeks max, they are too young to do it. Period. So, in answer to your question about the pull ups....I suppose you could buy these-but just to replace diapers (messy, but could work). I'd suggest just buying another brand. Huggies runs big in my opinion.

    As far as potty training advice goes, I waited until my son was 2.5. I took all diapers and threw them out, and decided on no pull ups (we used them at night for about three weeks then I decided against those, too-waste of money and time). So, I just let my son go naked for a week and he was trained. Accidents happened, and he didn't do it perfectly, but it worked out and he was "trained". I would say it took about three weeks to ensure he did it right and got everything in the toilet to where I was comfy enough taking him in public for long periods of time.

  9. 15 months is too young for potty training.  Especially for a boy.

    Pampers is making a size 7 diaper.. Have you tried that one?

    Try different brands of diapers...  They all tend to be a little different in size...

    Good Luck ~

    * After thinking about it?  How much does he weigh?  Are you sure he's getting too large for the diapers?  Are they leaking..  If they aren't leaking like crazy, just keep using them.  You may need to change him more often to avoid leaks....

    At 15 months he will probably start getting taller, and stop gaining weight so quickly.  So he'll probably be starting to thin out.  So hang in there...

    Boys aren't going to be ready to potty train completely until 2.5-3 years old in my opinion.

    Good Luck ~

  10. You potty train when the child is ready to be potty trained...buy bigger sized diapers.

  11. He will not be ready for potty training until he has control of his sphinchter muscle which ususally occurs sometime between ages 2 and 3.

    If the regular diapers are too small, switch him to pull ups or see if there is an adult diaper in a small size that will fit him.

  12. does your son have a pituitary disorder? i would take him to the doctor, immediately. potty training is terribly unlikely at this point, as far as size of diapers you'll have to switch to adult sizes or cloth.

    but have him checked for a growing disorder. if hes just fat then feed him healthier foods, and fewer prepackaged ones.

    criminy thats big for a 15 mo old

  13. no not really;

    children potty train at diffrent times;

    just because they have outgrown diapers doesnt mean it's time to go straight to the potty;

    15 month thats pretty young; my son started potty training at 22 months but if you think that he's ready then go for it!

    but if he's not showin any signs or intrests in wanting to use the "big boy potty" then i would say just wait it out;

    about the size 6 diapers being to small;

    i dont know what to tell you about that;

    im not sure if they make bigger sizes;but u should check into that;

    well i hope i helped =]

  14. You can start encouraging it, but don't force it on a 15 month old. You will get nowhere fast. Boys are very difficult to potty train and the more you push the more they will fight back. My son just turned 3 and is just now mastering the art of potty training. We tried pushing it and he just rebeled, but the day he turned 3 he just decided he wanted to be potty trained. It's very common for boys to refuse until they are ready.

    How big is your baby? Has his Dr been concerned about him being overweight at all? My 3yr old still fits into size 4 diapers, but we use 5's because they hold a little more. (He only gets diapers at bedtime) You might have to look around and find some diapers to fit him. They make them, they just aren't always found right there in your supermarket.

  15. You can start to potty train.  You can have him use the potty when he gets up from a nap or in the morning.  I have a son who at one time I did potty train.  Yes, most of the time boys are harder than girls.  I also have a daughter who I once potty trained.  I am in the middle of potty training my 30 month old. She is having her own issues and wants to wear big girl panties.  It will come in time.  Just remember to encourage your child and don't lose your temper with him! I wish you the best of luck!

  16. a size 7 diaper would fit my 5 year old

    your 15 month old baby weighs 50 plus lbs  time to get that kid up and active and on a strict diet not potty training your killing your kid he doesnt need cookies cakes chips and soda

    hes too young to toilet train get him on a diet before he has a heart attack or stops breathing

    if he was 31 lbs a size five  would hang off him  come off it your kid is fat read the weights and follow them theres no way a 31 lb toddler could fit a diaper cut for a child my sons size i have a 44lb 5 year old

  17. I wouldn't push if he's not ready. Dr. Sears has a list of signs to see if your child is ready:
