  1. Neither--Both

The SIGNAL is DIGITAL on BOTH

NEITHER are affected by outside interference....

The Optical really has better bandwidth, so it's the Better choice.....

  2. I have to disagree with the previous posters. While it is true that both are digital so in theory there should be no difference at all between them, and in my own experiments there is no difference that I can hear, due to extremely cheap optical transceivers there is a preference among audiophiles for coax. Also coax is much cheaper than fiber optic cables. You don't need any fancy cables for short runs so you can just use any normal RCA cable, you don't need expensive "digital" cables.

  3. Audio quality is identical (the only difference is whether the digital pulses are light or electric). Optical is more prone to problems if the cable is bent sharply while coax is more susceptible to electrical interference ... but neither are an issue under normal circumstances.  Use whichever you have the cable for.

  4. Optical is best to use .

u wont get distortion pickup from any kind of interference.and u can run it for long lengths

with no change in signal quality..

Coaxial is good .but u need a thicker cable.
