My Sony Handcam doesn't charge, what gives?

I have sony handycam that uses small cassettes.

When I plug in the AC cord, the camera's orange light (charging) lights up but it turns off after 5 secs.

What should I do?

You might want to consider getting a new battery. If that doesn't fix it than you might consider getting a new AC cord. If that doesn't work then I think your cam is toasty.
