Its 5:38 am right now and I got my spacers on at about 3:30pm yesterday. My spacer fell out over night. I know Im supposed to call the ortho. for an emergency apt. But the space where the spacer was looks big enough to put the metal bands around them easy. I am shceduled to get my braces on thursday and i really dont want to put it off for later because of this. Do you think I will have to wait to get braces later???? Any advice for when i get braces???

  1. Check the area with floss, if there is no contact between the teeth there is enough space. You should check it everyday and if you notice the teeth touching it would make it a lot easier when they are placing the bands if you went back in and had them place a spacer.

  2. I have the same problem! I had spacers put in on Monday, and on Monday night one of them fell off on its own. The doctor told me that if one of them falls off on its own it means that the space is big enough so I don't have to call for an emergency, but I still feel weird that it fell right away. That's why I'm waiting for the orthodontist office to open so I can call and check. If I was you I would do the same thing: a phone call doesn't hurt, right? I'm so excited to get braces, I'm getting them next Tuesday!! :-)))
