My Sulcata Tortoise-?

Okay , a few days ago i got my Sulcata " Neo" a 10.0 UVB Bulb , once when i put it in there he started to act weird. Like when i put it on his behavior changed into a constant walking mode instead of being lazy with a ordinary bulb. And now he seems to eat better and sleep way more now. whats going on? also is there any good house recipies for tortoises? i get bermuda grass for him in my yard and other weeds, etc...Thanx

he is more active as you now have the correct heating and lighting, before he was getting cold which is why he would not walk about, the correct heating makes the world of difference, an ordinary house bulb is not enough for tortoises, neo will be much happier now and will eat more as he has the benefit of a uv bulb to help him digest his food, here is a site especially for sulcata's which might help you http://www.sulcata-station.org/index.htm...   as a tasty treat get a prickly pear cactus, and feed the de-spined pads and fruit to neo, you can de-spine them by burning the spines off with a lighter, not only are they full of calcium neo will go mad for them, best of luck honey

Well, they need the UVB light to absorb there needed daily vitamin D. So this gives him the nutrients he needs to be active. Good Job!

My guess is, it was too cold in the tank before and now that he has better heating, his digestive track and basically everything health wise is working better for him.
