Question:

My Sun sign is Libra and my Moon sign is Pisces; what can you tell me about this astrological configuration?

I am definitely the quintessential Libra, but I know that the other planets play their part. I recall reading that a Libra Sun/Pisces Moon partnership was a murky one, perhaps indicating a tendency to alcoholism or other self-destructive behaviours. Can you fill me in on the particulars of this configuration?

  1. Heck, Jack. I'm so lit up all the time I think my sign is Neon.

  2. Well, a lot of how your Moon sign effects your Sun sign has to do with your Mercury and how it bridges your emotional and logical thinking process. Because you haven't mentioned your Mercury I can only guess. And the guess is based on some of the replies I've read that you've given in YA.

Here are some positive aspects to having a Libra Sun, Pisces Moon combination:

Chances are you're either somewhat psychic or highly intuitive. You've got the true mind of an artist and could excel as a writer, painter, actor, composer or philosopher. You also could have the mind of a scientist. Yes, you're more sensitive than a typical Libra and take things more personally. But this enhances the creative soul you have. Einstein had Moon in Pisces. This combination would also make you a good (though over-protective) parent, an honest business partner and a good shoulder to cry on for friends in need.

The moon sign being a water sign does not indicate alcoholism. Whoever wrote that is full of crapola. Your rising sign, if a water sign or earth sign, would be the indicator for possible alcoholism, over-eating and other forms of excess.

(I'm a Libra with a Gemini Moon. My Mercury is in Scorpio. Mercury in Scorpio grounds the artistic, though flighty, Libra and the logical, sometimes scatter-brained Gemini, and gives the thinking process focus.)

  3. Oh, you're a Libra too? I love being such a typical example of the sign... On the other hand (a favorite phrase of indecisive Librans), it has its downsides. Frankly, I could do without the sweet-tooth, the laziness, and the complete inability to make a decision.

Pisces moon with a Libra sun is an interesting combination because the aspect that links them--inconjunction--can be both good and bad.

With your moon in a water sign, it makes you a lot more sensitive and emotional, balancing out Libra's otherwise aloof, airy nature. The moon rules the emotions, so it having it in Pisces makes you very sensitive, maybe even a little touchy. But yes, a Pisces moon does indicate a tendency towards self-destructive behaviors. The Fish is the sign of self-delusion, and people born under it have higher incidences of alcoholism, drug use, and even suicide. Remember, though, that this is an *indication* of possible behaviors, not a guarantee of such extremes. All it really means is that you may have an inclination to escapism, but it can be through alcohol and drugs or just wanting to curl up with a book and hide for a day. The whole natal chart needs to be taken into consideration.
