My TV Keeps Turning It's Self Off?

I have a Philip's tv, From time to time It will shut it's self off and whenever I turn it back on stay on for a few minutes/Few Seconds and go right off. The word's on the channel guide get blurry and stuff when it goes back on and turns it's self off. It was fine for a while but the other day I had to turn the tv off and last night I went to turn it on and it stayed on for a while and about 9:30 last night it started turning it's self off again and hasn't stopped all night, Any suggestions as to what it might be? Can you tell me how to fix it?

Is it a LCD/Plasma, or a picture tube?

I had an old picture tube TV that would turn itslef off after a while.  From my understanding it was a capacitor that was bulging/heating up.

Have you had your TV longer than a year?  Contact the manufacturer.

maybe the universe is telling you its time to stop watching the tv. it could be a power problem or maybe the tv needs a replacement
