This just recently started happening. I noticed that when the volume is up around 20 there is a buzzing sound coming from the TV. There are also horizontal 2 lines that run up and down the screen.

I have a samsung flat panel tv. I think its 50"

How do i fix this problem?

  1. Nice More

    I See Is Good

    Thank You

  2. This is a good sign your monitor is going out - contact Samsung for warrenty information or go back to where you bought it and request a free fix (if its only a few years old).

  3. If this happens intermittently, it could be interference with something nearby.  If I set my cellphone too close to my monitor, it buzzes and gets lines on the screen.

A second possible source for the buzz (but not the lines) can be from having the TV volume too high, while you have lowered the volume with the cable remote.  Having the TV left somewhere closer to the normal listening volume will help with that.

  4. if its just on one channel then that channel most likely went digital. if it on all, the power supply may be going up in your tv. that happened to me when i bought a sony. i hope its still under warrenty

  5. if you are with ntl unplug everything and leave for 10mins and then try, had weird thing with tv last week with the sound but was ok on Irish Channels when unplugged ntl, is with them the problem was, was turning it up loud as coudn't hear and then going all muffled,so annoying and just when sat down to watch something on tv@don't watch alot.  Hope you get it sorted,if not ring the place where you bought the tv, good luck.
