My Tamagotchi V5 has a glitch, what can I do?

When I go to connect it to another v5 it makes the reset beep and asks me to download or reset...weird. Every time this happens. What can I do..I beleive I may have the receipt still, but definetly not the packaging. Purchased in Target if I remember right.

I think you have to take the battery out and then put it back in. If that doesn't work try buying a new battery because even though its new, the battery can still be used. Trust me this happend to me before.
