My Tomos Targa (Moped) has been sitting idle for over a year.Can I just start it & ride it w/o any problems?

Your moped is a basic 49cc 2 stroke motor which is simple to use and maintain.  However certain care has to be taken.

First remove the spark plug and clean it.  Then check if there is clean fuel in the tank and if it is flowing freely from the tube at the end of it.  Normally fuel lying idle over 6 months tends to deteriorate.  In that case you may need to empty, wash clean and refill.  While you are at it, do clean the air filter as well.

Check the intensity of the spark by connecting it to the cable and kick starting it.  Touch the thread of the plug to any metal surface.  A dark purple is good.  A bright yellow is weak.  Do not overtighten the spark plug.    Check the air pressure in your tyres and you are ready to go.  Do lubricate and adjust the brake cable as well.  Good luck !

If it wasn't properly stored with fuel stabilizer, You will be very Lucky if the Carb is not gunked up with residue from  old gas. If it is You will need to remove and clean it.
