Is the sound normal for that particular model (Toshiba HD A2)? it doesn't give the best sound compare to my other player, I also tried my Panasonic BLU RAY DVD or even regular DVD player on the same hook up but its big difference on sound, Im using the HDMI cable straight to my Samsung 52 lcd because the picture looks better than using my receiver & the optical cable hook to my receiver, I also tried HDMI to receiver but it sounds the same but the picture quality was lessen....THANKS....

  1. Well, with the SAME CABLES.....if your Panasonic Blu Ray sounded BETTER than your HDA2, I would suspect one of two possibilities....

Either your HDA2's settings in the audio menu are incorrect....like it's set to RAW and/or Dolby Digital and not PCM.....

OR your HDA2 does have a problem with it's audio processor....

You should try the audio settings on the HDA2 on ALL modes and see if you hear an improvement or not....

PCM or Dolby digital is the preferred setting, but I also find that the Dolby digital will sometimes cause only the Center speaker to function instead of all of them in the PCM mode.....

It shouldn't sound muddy or weak at all.....
