My Tv aerial cable has been cut off, how do i reconnect the wire and what would i need?

The cable has been cut, there is still about half an inch inside the house. I need to know how to reconnect the cable so its in working order and i can watch freeview

Fit a plug to one end and a socket to the other to maintain the earth screening. You may be lucky - I have several joins (and splitters) on my cable and it doesn't affect freeview quality). The purists may tell you different.
