My Uncle seen an advertisement in a local paper about a 1970 Plymoth Barracuda Hemi, for 4,700.00. The woman claims to live in Or. and we live in PA....... She said if he would like to buy the car, she deals with Yahoo! Financing and he can send a money gram to them and they won't release the money to her till he receives the car which she is sending using Hemisphere Cargo Shipping, and said it will takes 4-6 days for it to get here. Has anyone heard of a scam like this, because he has his heart set on getting the car. But I found alot of shady things. For instants... She said he can not come out to Or. and pick the car up, because she deals through Yahoo! Financing...... She misspelled her own name 3 out of 4 e-mails she sent me..... she misspelled the city she was from..... and at the end of all her e-mails, where yahoo usually has an advertisement, hers is typed in another language.... I have check about 20 of my old e-mails from friends and family from all over the country, and all of them are in English, so if she is from Or.... why is hers in an unknown language?

Can anyone help in this matter.

  1. $4700.00 for a 70 barracuda? what is it, a parts car? sounds like c**p to me, don't do it. she won't allow you to come get it? scam-scam-SCAM!

  2. It's a total scam. My nephew was taken when he sent a moneygram for a motorcycle on Ebay. I had a motorcycle for sale and got twenty ,or so emails. They said they would buy the bike sight unseen, and send me a cashiers check. Two thieves even called from Estonia, and the Netherlands. If your uncle can't look at the car, and pay cash for it in person, it's a scam. Think about it: a car like that is worth twice that much. If it doesn't make sense, then it's a scam. If your uncle falls for it, I promise you that he'll end up owing 4700.00 to the bank and have no car.
