  1. buy a dvd player what century do you live in?

  2. Use a VCR head cleaner tape with a liquid solution to clean the machine.  If this does not work you may need a new machine.  Unfortunately the heads on the machine do wear out and that can cause them to grab the tape.  What also happens is that tapes become dirty and they clog the heads.  Damaged tapes clog the heads even more.  And those so called automatic cleaners inside the machines are really just rollers that eventually redistribute dirt to the video heads.  This is why many people have switched to DVD players and DVD recorders.  But even DVD players and recorders need cleaning for the disc media and the lens of the optical reader.

Good luck with the head cleaner tape.

  3. In this day and age you have a VCR?!!!!!

  4. Buy a DVD player.

  5. Don't waste your money on a head cleaner because the problem is not with the heads. If you take the cover off & look between the 2 take-up reels, you'll see an idler assembly that is driven by a belt under the unit. Make sure nothing is catching down between the reels. It could also be that the idler assembly itself (which acts like a clutch) is slipping. Try watching a tape rewind or fast forward & see if everything runs smooth or is it slow & jerking, that would indicate slippage from the belt or idler.

And before you eject the tape, try rewinding it.

  6. nope just  get  a  new  one  and  buy  a buray  recordetr to  transfer  all your  tapes  to  disc.  dvr  is  going  out  soon. .no point investing  in that  now.  might  as  well  buy  the one  that  will  be around  longest. (we  hope)
