I'm not sure what happened before, but I went to watch TV and when I pushed the power button on my remote control none of the lights came on and nothing happened. I tried replacing the batteries, but the remote still doesnt work. I read through the User Guide under trouble shooting and nothing helps. What can I do to make my remote work?

  1. Try to hit the STB button.

If any of the other control buttons have been pushed it won't work.

What I tell the customers that I install to is to the first thing you want to do when you pick up your remote is make sure you push the STB button because if you don't you will probably turn one thing on and one off at the same time.  It can be very confusing.  So, if you get into the habit of taking the extra second to push that button you will alleviate most problems with the remote.

If that doesn't work the remote will have to be exchanged.  You can bring it th your nearest Verizon store (not and authorized dealer, they are no help) and exchange it for free.  If you do not have one local you will have to call customer service and have one mailed to you or even ask if a tech can bring one to you.  We are always around and dropping off a remote has never been a problem for me.
