My Vinyl floor has all lifted along the edges next to the skirting boards and it looks terrible, anyone know the best way to stick it down - I've tried double side tape but doesn't work - any other ideas please.

  1. When in doubt liquid nails does the trick for most flooring projects

  2. First, lift the vinyl as much as you can, make sure the sub floor is dry and clean. get vinyl glue and apply it to the sub floor with a 1/16'' dented trowel, let it dry for about 6 hours stick the vinyl back to the sub floor.

It's worthy to mention that the sub floor must be even, and no cracks or holes on it, otherwise is waste of time.

    Good luck!!!!

  3. i find this happens more than i want, my suggestion is to install 1/4 round trim along the floors edge.

this will keep the floor in place, you will not have the edges lifting anymore.

    good luck!

  4. rubber cement works great and is inexpensive

  5. Mine did the same thing and I went to lowes and they have a certain type of floor glue. Go to the floor section and ask the saleman will know.

  6. The floor will need to be re-adhered to the underlayment.  I suggest buying a small container of cove base cement and applying a thin layer along the perimeter of the floor.  Once you have the cove base cement on the floor press the vinyl into it.  I prefer cove base cement because it has a tenacious hold and will grab the vinyl instantly. Place a piece of 2"x 4" on the vinyl to hold it in place for an hour if the cove base adhesive fails to hold the vinyl down.  Cove base adhesive can be found at any home center or hardware.
