My Vision is 50/40...good or bad?

the doctor said i have a vision of 50/40.....and didnt say anyhitng else about it.. isnt that a horrible vision score?!?!? last year it was 20/25 but now its worsened, im 13, so it kind of weird i have worsening vision, right? So anyway, is 50/40 bad vision, or is just me? and should i get glasses?

If you have 50/40 vision, that means that you can see something that a person with normal vision can only see at 40 feet at 50 feet. That means your vision is better than average.

He probably said 20/40...not 50/40...50/40 doesn't really make sense, the charts are never calibrated for 50 feet.

In which case it would be a bit worse than the previous exam...which is completely normal at your age.

the doctor probably said 20/40...but that's better than mine which for one eye w/o glasses in 20/400....but that is completely normal.

40/50 is the same as 20/25.

What it means is what someone could normally see clearly at fifty feet, you can see clearly at forty feet. If you reduce the distance their distance to twenty-five feet, you could see it from twenty.

This isn't bad vision. You could probably get glasses, but you probably see well without them too. It is up to you.

my doc told me i got like...20/400...now that is horrible
