My WXGA 15.4" LCD laptop

Question

My WXGA 15.4" LCD laptop screen for DELL Inspiron 6000 is temperamental. Works most of the time, but when I start up computer the bottom 1/2 of screen looks like color streaks down it (all blury/fuzzy color mish /ash). I fixed problem for a while by putting pressure on LHS of screen about 1/2 way down (seems like a loose connection). But now it's getting worse. Any ideas of how to fix this?Ivan.
