  1. The most common fault on a washing machine is when the heating element is breaking down it will cause a trip or a fuse to go.because it is a "resistive load" ie a small short circuit. Try to put your washer through a cold wash cycle if it completes the cycle without blowing the fuse then you know that you need a new element. If it still blows the fuse then you are looking at most likely a motor problem.

  2. it's obviously shorting out for some reason, most likely the heating element, the best option i can suggest is find someone else who has a washing machine and use theirs, yours won't blow any more fuses, problem solved!

it sounds like you don't want to pay out on your machine, buy a new one, get it insured for five years, ours covers all the parts once the warranty has expired.

our last machine had been virtually re-built through the insurance! and cost us very little.

also don't use Calgon or similar on a regular basis, the  build up on the element is mostly soap powder not calcium like the TV adverts say!

  3. If it fills, rotates then blows a fuse it is likely the element has failed. A repair guy should do it for a reasonable fee. It's finding the right repair man.

  4. Do you have it on the same time as your dishwasher

  5. the fuse is blowing because the start windings on the motor might be staying on. The start winding should disconnect after a few seconds. This can be checked with an ammeter  ( clamp style ). You should make sure nothing else is on that breaker/fuse.

  6. Maybe it's a cheap brand. It looks like you're going to be visiting the laundrette's for a little while.
