Hey all,

I took my 110V Wii along with me on a family vacation to a country which uses 220V. I setup every part of my Wii except the power, so I plugged in the end of the wii ac adapter that goes into the stepdown first, but I didn't plug it into my Wii yet. Then smoke started to come out of my stepdown (because I flipped the switch on the stepdown to 110V instead of 230V). I immediatly unplugged the stepdown from the socket. Later on I tried setting up my Wii again, but on a 110V socket, so I didn't need a stepdown. But the red light on my Wii wouldn't even come on. So I concluded that the Wii ac adapter was fried to. When I got back home (which is all 110V). I went out and bought a new ac adapter that worked on my U.S. version wii and was 100V-240V. I proceeded to set it up again and I got a red light! Then when I pressed the on/off button the green light came on for like 2 seconds, my Wii made a click noise and went back to a red light.

  1. i say take it down to a electronics store and ask them to look at it i reckon you pumped either too much power or not enough power into the wii, therefore causing it to crash.
