My Windows Media Player 11 Doesn't play music!?

Hi, i have Windows Vista Basic and i have recently downloaded some songs, but Media player doesn't play it all it playes is like a rustling heartbeat type sound. It plays on the VLC Media player but i dont like using that as its too awkward for music so i use that for Films....Any Help Please xxxxxxxxx

This May Be Dumb But, Check On the File Tab That Work Offline Is Unchecked.

Otherwise You're Going To Have To Check For Codecs.
