My Windows Media Player isnt playing video files?

My windows media player isnt playing video files and ive got windows media player 10 it still says that it acquires the codec? does anybody know how i can fix it or is there a better video player program to get it to play? whoever helps me and it works i will give them best answer

  1. Windows Media Player isn't a very good media player. If you want one that plays everything (or nearly everything) by default, download VLC for free at http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ . I've not found anything that it won't play yet and you don't need to download additional codecs.


  2. You need to do exactly what it says.  Download a codec pack.  I personally use k-lite codec pack.  There are many out there that will also work.
