Question:

My Windows Media Player just deleted all my music

ok, so i left it on all night, playing music, and then when i woke up it was silent. and my computer had logged itselft out but not turned off. when i logged back in and checked media player, it said that the library had no songs. they are not in the recycle bin. where can they be? can i get them back?

  1. Are you suspious of anyone in your house deleting them as you where asleep.


  2. That is weird, programs don't just delete files like that. Make sure your music is in the corresponding folder it was, maybe just the play list was deleted.

    If your music is gone, system restore might help. Other than that hopefully you have a backup like i do of my files.

  3. go to it and right click the top of window, it should pop up a menu and then click preferences or options.. which ever it is.

    there should be something about auto finding music if you look around.

    make sure it is checked and it should find all your music.

    this could take awhile but you'll see it adding it all.

    if they were off cd's or that did not work than try system restore. go back to the time before it erased like a day back.

  4. You can do system restore and if that doers not work you have lost them unless you did a backup but check in event viewer to look at the application logs.
