I'm getting my Wisdom Teeth removed tommrow and I wont be nervous till i get there. When i was little they had to pull a few of my teeth and i woke up in the middle of it and im afriad that will happen again. I was told I wont but idk. My oldest sister had hers removed and she said she was just sore and all of her friends said the same. My sister bled alot also. I dont think i will but cuz her friends didn't and im 15 and i only say that because people say depending on your age depends on how well you will heal. Plus there doing all four at once and 2 are through the gum a little bit. The doctor said i should be fine in 3 days or so. Im getting hydros i think at least thats what i was told. dont they sell those on the street? lol

  1. ok i'm not going to lie and say it won't, cause then when u walk out of the office with a mouth full of pain cursing those who said it didn't i don't want 2 be blamed anyway it will hurt and be sore but it will heal, and try not to wake up or .. well u know anyway it will at least be sore of anything so good luck and don't wake up.

  2. I just had mine out today.  They used general anesthesia (I was out during the procedure).  So when I came to my mouth was still very numb and I didn't feel any sort of pain at all until a couple of hours afterward.  When I did feel the pain, I just took one of the pain pills and was completely fine.

I am a BIG pain baby and surprisingly am not in any pain at all.  Just go into it with a positive attitude.  I think that the more you freak out about it, psychologically you will cause yourself to feel more pain.

Remember to follow ALLLLLLLLL of their instructions (no straws, smoking, etc) and you should be fine :)

    Best of luck!!!

  3. It will be fine. You will be sore after wards but you will be on the pain meds, and you will probably sleep a lot. I had mine out on a Thursday and was back in class on Monday. You will be out like a light just remember to stock up on soups and very soft foods. Pudding and

Jell-O will be your best friends. Good Luck. I also had all four removed at the same time.

  4. My daughter had two of hers removed and she stayed awake throughout the entire procedure. The reason she only had two removed was because her upper wisdom teeth were fully erupted and not causing any problems. She had had two upper teeth extracted earlier and it made room for those wisdom teeth. She was sore for the first day or so but started recovering quickly after that. After that first day, she didn't need pain medication anymore.

As for me personally, I had three of mine extracted on three separate occasions. The fourth never came in. It shows up on x-rays and is not impacted but it won't come down either. The others were simple extractions. The teeth were out so they could easily be pulled. I didn't have stitches or pain afterwards.

  5. It should not hurt you. I have had 2 of mine removed and no after effects.

Today's Dentistry procedures are so different in just the past few years.

The mouth is the fast healing part of your body, so don't get nervous. If the dentist needs to put a stitch or two in there, that's simple. They will either give you shots of Novocaine or gas, which will make you a little goofy, so make sure someone is with  you. You won't feel a thing, bleeding just depends on your body, and if you bleed a little that's fine. And please, if you get the pain pills, please don't sell them = what goes around comes around. Don't mess around with them please.

    Good Luck

  6. Believe me it is not as bad as everyone tells you that it is-- mostly for the fact that people love to exaggerate about the amount of pain they can endure.  The dentist will give you pain meds to take at home.  He will also instruct you NOT to drink from a straw -- that can cause the holes that are left from the extracted teeth to become what's called "dry sockets" and they can really hurt.  You cannot bend you head over for a couple of days? can't remember how long...but the dentist's assistant will give you a couple of slips of paper with all your instructions.  Just remember one thing-- do not eat or drink until it states that you can...and only eat and drink what they recommend...and if the pain becomes unbearable or you start to bleed a lot, have your family drive you to the ER for treatment....everyone has this done...no one dies.....so don't sweat it.

  7. Eat a banana before you go. It has natural laxatives, and it helps you to calm down. Once you get to the office and check-in, take some Benadryl. It will help you feel drowsy and fall asleep, and the painkiller will kick in while your teeth are getting removed, so when you wake up, it will help with the soreness. Hope I helped!!!
