My X-box live shows up my friends list but I can't play online...?

I have gold membership and everything but whenever I try going on call of duty 4 online it says can't access account, what do I do ?? Please help

Its normal when a new game comes out like cod4 for the servers to fill up with people. Keep trying and eventually you will get a game.

Well Xbox Live has had some problems in the past few weeks.

How long have you had your account for because it could be that you are not properly registered on the server. My brother's friend has the same problem sometimes.
