Question:

My XBOX 360 is broken...but it's not the Red Ring of Death...I don't know what it is?

It started a few weeks ago when I was playing Halo 3. I would put the disc in and a message would come up telling me "To play this disc put it into a XBOX 360." I would turn the system off and on until the message didn't come up, and eventually would be able to play. Recently however, a new problem arose. During gameplay the screen would become washed out...kind of like a white gloss was painted over the screen. The problem kept getting worse. I don't know if any of you have ever played the original Nintendo, but the screen ended up looking like a screen would if your Nintedo game cartridge had too much dust in it or wasn't inserted properly. Colored patches came up all over the screen. Gameplay was impossible. If anyone knows how to fix this problem, or what causes it, will you please reply. It would be greatly appreciated.

  1. Sadly your problem lies INSIDE your box, not with the disc, or the drive.

If you have warranty, send it in.

If you do not the only solution is a incredibly invasive strategy that requires either reflowing the solder, or getting a complete reball.
