Question:

My XBox 360 Scratches My Disks

Does anyone know how to fix this? My XBox is in the horizontal position (sideways) and it hasn't moved in months, yet it ruined my Madden and is beginning to ruin Halo. The scratches it makes are a circular pattern, like an old record for a turntable. Also, whenever I turn the xbox on, it makes a humming noise. Sometimes it goes away, sometimes it gets loud... Does anyone have the same problem or know how to fix this?

  1. This happens when the console is moved with discs inside it. It happened to one of my friends, it ruined 5 of his games, and they don't comne cheap. His console sorted itself out, but just try to avoid things like moving the console around with games inside. Also, take discs out of the console when your not using it. If it's still doing it after a few days, contact microsoft about it. Good luck matey. Billy (Fellow Xbox Fan) x

  2. i had the same problem on 2 different machines.  If your machine is out of warranty it will cost you $100 for a fix.  They will not replace any games that are not microsoft produced so you can probably get Halo replaced, but say goodbye to Madden.  It is a laser issue and the humming you hear is the  spinning mechanism off kilter.  Mine ate Dead Rising and the Outfit, I had it replaced, then it ate Assassins Creed and GTA IV.  Each time they have sent me a new machine, but I'm stuck without the games.

  3. Yes, my brother had the same problem. It could be overheated or something like that, but the only way to really fix those two problems is to mail it in to the company and have them fix it. They are currently fixing ours right now. It only takes about 2-3 weeks to fix, and they mail it right back.
