My Xbox 360 has got the red ring of death. Can anyone tell me if i can save my gamercard and all my memory?

I have had my 360 for a year now. If i send my 360 to Microsoft does that mean i lose my gamercard and all my achievments and downloads? If so is there a way i can save my gamercard and everything included?

you should still have everything after you send it in if you have connected to xbox live before, also if you have a harddrive it should be stored in there and you do not send that in when you get your xbox repaired.
