My Xbox 360 has no vision but the audio is fine, what is happening?

Today (18/3/08) my parents bought a new television and they gave me their old one. I then set the television up and then plugged my Xbox 360 into the television. But when I went to turn on the 360, there was sound but no vision. I checked the cables and they were all colour co-ordinated, yellow in yellow etc. So I'm just wondering if this is a technical problem, something I'm doing wrong or just the television?

Yes! Configure your video output from your 360.

Change to 480i in the system dialog on your XBOX

This is if you are using composite video (yellow)

Also make sure the TV is on the correct input

You could be on the wrong channel or have the wrong kind of lead going into the television. My PS2 did the exact same thing but I have a new lead to it now (not the same as the old one) and it works perfectly.

I think maybe you should contact Microsoft, you never know about 360's. It could be a technical fault.

At the Xbox end where the cables come from there is that big gray thing you plug into the 360...

it has a HD and SD option.... make sure it is switch to the correct option.

1. try wiggling the yellow cable a little bit, b/c this happens to me too

2.check if ur tv is an HDTV ,b/c then u can try to use the other cables

but im pretty sure ur yellow cables just a little loose so pik at it for a few mins.

u have to wiggle the color plugs for a bit

or if it still wont come on try ur xbox on a differnt tv if it does tht to the same tv its the xbox.

or otherwise take it and fix it.

there are a lot of variables that could trigger the problem. i suggest trying the 360 on the new tv. or you could change the cables u used. try makin some hypothesis.... :p
