My Xbox 360 is jacked up (darkened screen, red lines cut through sometime, trouble getting games to play)?

Question

My question is how do I get the three red rings, is there are way to fault the system so I can get it replaced through the MS warranty as my system is a year and half old and over the one year complete warranty.
