Question:

My YahooGroups account won't accept my AOL address as a primary(or any)address - how to fix? NYCatNYC@aol.com

My friends created a yahoogroup that I joined about 4 years ago and at that time, it took my aol address in my account/profile but now when I looked at the other members, i realize that either their username or their email address has their actual name in it but neither my userid/name nor my email address identified me so no one could look me up in the list and know that it was me.

So I tried to change my username by deleting the old one and adding a new one that identified me by my name.

But no matter how I tried to put in my AOL email address, it never showed on the group membership list and all email from the group and its members goes to the yahoo created email address which I don't use and don't want to need to use and that's also the email address that is now on the membership list. How can I get my AOL email address as my primary address in our group?

If you can help me, I'd be very grateful.

Thanks,

BD

  1. any address should work with yahoo groups, providing it's not a bot-considered address. I have AOL and all my group mail goes there. try re-tracing these steps

    1)  go to this link- http://groups.yahoo.com/myprefs click add email address on top left- follow steps and confirm address. (you will get an e-mail sent to added address and you must confirm)

    2)  then go to this link http://groups.yahoo.com/mygroups click edit my groups on the top left- locate group (if there's more than one) under the column Email Address click the arrow for the drop down box and select new address- click save changes
