My ac on my 1992 honda prelude only works through the side vents?

but will not come through the middle vents,has anyone ever had this problem and what is the solution.

  1. the air through the center vents is controlled by a door inside the heater case.  that door is moved by a motor in response to the heater control panel

    sounds like the vent door is stuck or the motor isn't moving the vent door.

    do you get air out of the other vents when you change direction--does it come out of the top when you put it in 'defrost' and does it come out of the bottom when you change to "heat".  if so, the vent door is stuck.

    if it doesnt come out of the top of bottom when you change you have a problem with the blower motor and not with the mode doors.

    this isn't something you can fix yourself.  you'll need to take it to a competent technician as the dash and the heater case have to come out to fix it.
